PACK 7
SLATERSVILLE, RI
FAMILY FOCUSED.
VALUE DRIVEN.
Cub Scouting is a year-round program uniquely designed to meet the needs of young boys and girls (kindergarten through fifth grade) and their families. The program offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development and physical fitness. Family involvement is an essential part of the program, and parents are encouraged to play an active role. Cub Scouting helps parents make the most of the time they have to impact the lives of their children.

DO YOUR BEST. HAVE FUN DOING IT.
The best way to find out what you do best is to do it. Catch a fish. Ride a bike. Set up a tent. Build a Pinewood Derby® car. Shoot a bow and arrow. Cub Scouting offers boys and girls the opportunity to see and learn fun, new things that can’t be found anywhere else. Cub Scouts are at that magical age where everything is new and possible and, most important, fun. They build things. Play with purpose. Make friends and work together. The life lessons learned here not only transform today’s Cub Scouts into tomorrow’s Scouts BSA members but also help form a foundation to embrace opportunity and overcome obstacles in life.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
Cub Scouts / Pack 7 is a completely volunteer led organization and we have a great, family friendly, program where Scouts can learn the fundamentals of scouting and have fun with their friends. While it is not required that parents volunteer to lead meetings or activities we do ask that parents/families help out anywhere they can as many hands make light work. The saying goes "It takes a village." well we like to say "It takes a Pack!" and we need everyone in our Pack to help make our program a success for all our Scouts.
Parents must accompany their Scout to all events until Grade 2/Wolf year as per BSA policy. However we do ask that if your Scout is older that you speak with your Den Leader regarding their specific preferences regarding leaving your child as some activities benefit from parent supervision/support especially with larger dens.
We understand kids (and families) are extraordinarily busy these days but Scouts are expected to make the majority of Den Meetings and Pack meetings but all the extra activities/events are completely optional with the caveat that a lot of Den Leaders utilize camp days / campouts to work on rank requirements (especially with the older ranks). Most things that are done in the meetings can be done at home with family if needed due to missing a meeting.
Once our Scouts are done in Cub Scouts we are very lucky to have 2 great troops here in town that they can continue their scouting journey with... BSA Troop 1139 (boys) or BSA Troop 438 (girls).
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD?
The registration fee for all scouts (new, transferring and returning) for the 2023/2024 scouting year is $160/child. This fee includes all membership fees that are required from National BSA, Narragansett Council and to Pack 7 to help offset the cost of rechartering our entire pack.
Pack 7 has several fundraisers throughout the year to keep registration costs low. It is expected that your scout participate in fundraising in some capacity to help continue to keep out of pocket costs to our families low. Scouts will also need a uniform and handbook that is purchased through the scout store in either Warwick, RI or Swansea, MA.
